The role of the network in becoming educated

When: β€”
Venue: Birkbeck Main Building, Malet Street

No booking required

Drawing on my research into motivations to engage online I will explore notions of education as a form of 'becoming'. Focusing on identity formation rather than knowledge acquisition provides an interesting perspective on the role of networked technology in learning. I will discuss my 'Visitors & Residents' method of mapping motivations to engage and the development of our (Digital) Creative Attributes Framework at the University of the Arts London. I will also explore our shifting relationship with what it means to be human in an age of algorithms.
